The Difference Between Saturated Steam And Superheated Steam In The Flow Meter
Under certain pressure conditions, the liquid is gradually evaporated after being heated in a limited closed space. When the evaporation rate of the liquid is equal to the condensation rate of the steam, the steam at this time is called saturated steam under the pressure condition, and the corresponding temperature is called The saturation temperature under pressure conditions.
If the saturated steam is continuously heated so that the steam temperature exceeds the boiling point temperature (saturation temperature), the steam obtained at this time is referred to as superheated steam.
The saturated steam continues to absorb heat to be converted into superheated steam, so the superheated steam is higher than the saturated steam at the same pressure. The higher the steam superheat, the greater the enthalpy value.
Effective energy difference
Under the constant pressure, the higher the temperature, the larger the gas volume, that is, the superheated steam has a larger specific volume than the saturated steam at the same pressure, and the internal energy is more efficiently converted into mechanical energy.
Second, the main application fields of saturated steam and superheated steam are different.
Under the same pressure, getting superheated steam requires more energy than saturated steam. Saturated steam is more suitable for process heat transfer than superheated steam.
Superheated steam is mainly used for power generation and drying. Thermal power plants use superheated steam as the power source for steam turbines to generate electricity. Superheated steam does not contain liquid water, and there is no condensed water when it is cooled slightly. Therefore, the thermal conductivity and heat capacity of superheated steam are high. There is no reaction such as oxidation and combustion in the drying process, and the quality of the product after drying is good, and it also has the functions of sterilization and disinfection.
In the process of using steam, it is necessary to fully combine different steam properties and select suitable steam to minimize energy consumption and save costs while ensuring production and life.
